When chaos strikes, you need more than crisps — you need a Comet. 🧠🔥🌿
This week I stepped out of my comfort zone.
I know, why do I keep torturing myself like this?
I could have stayed at home in Tunstall and become an oatcake flipper.
Life would’ve been simpler. Greasier, yes, but simpler.
As you may know, I run the monthly pub quiz at the Royal Oak in aid of the Midland Freewheelers (the Blood Bikers) - volunteers who deliver urgent blood and medical supplies across the Midlands.
Well, I decided I wanted to give them a bit more support.
Only problem: I’ve never ridden a motorbike in my life.
So this week, I did my first shift as a co-ordinator instead.
Now, you may also know I’m a bit of a control freak.
Not only do I like controlling the controllables, I also try to control the uncontrollables.
So having strangers ring me out of the blue, in need of help, and expecting me to stay calm and collected…
Let’s just say it wasn’t my natural habitat.
But once I took a breath and focused on helping, the panic faded.
I wasn’t out of control I was just out of comfort Zone.
And that’s not the same thing.
With this whole AI revolution, everyone’s feeling a bit like I did on that first shift.
Curious. Excited. Slightly terrified.
I’ve been an early adopter ( paid versions of ChatGPT and Perplexity AI for over two years now ) and they’ve become everyday tools.
Honestly, I sometimes wonder how I managed before.
Now Perplexity is trying to do the unthinkable — replace Google with a next-gen AI search tool.
And can you even remember life before Google?
We use it so much that “to Google” became a verb.
But I remember when “Google” was a new word — it sounded like something you’d find written on the back of a packet of prawn-cocktail crisps, a vital ingredient in the fight against the giant hogweeds of the Norfolk Broads.
Mad, but true.
Anyway, the point is: change happens.
And if we’re brave enough to explore it, change can lead to discovery whether it’s embracing innovation, or learning how AI is changing the way we search for information.
So here’s your chance to step out of your comfort zone — not into chaos, but into curiosity.
I’ve been using a tool called Comet, powered by Perplexity AI.
It’s like Google if Google actually answered your questions properly.
Fast, clear, genuinely useful — it feels like a co-pilot for your brain, or maybe your browser.
If you fancy joining the adventure, there’s a little bonus:
if you sign up using My Link, you’ll get a free month of Perplexity Pro (worth about £17).
And they’ll send me about ten quid for introducing you — which will go straight towards tea, biscuits, and further experiments in human–AI collaboration.
To qualify, you just need to download Comet, sign in, and ask your first question.
That’s it. No traps, no nonsense, just a small step into something new. Use My Link
Growth doesn’t happen by staying comfortable.
It happens when you take that first small, curious step into the unknown — whether that’s volunteering for something you’ve never done before, or trying a new way of thinking, learning, or searching online.
So go on — step outside your comfort zone.
Because this next chapter of human history isn’t about man versus machine.
It’s about how we explore the future with AI — together.
